Peas and Thank You Cookbook Giveaway!
Oh my yum.
I know this has been a coincidentally uncharacteristic week on How Sweet It Is, but I promise tomorrow will more than make up for it. Monday too. You’ll be lucky if you can button your pants by Tuesday.
I am super excited about this giveaway! In fact, my excitement has grown every single day this week.. because I can’t stop eating things out of this book.
MamaPea is the creator of the blog Peas and Thank You, if you didn’t know. She has some of the cutest kids I’ve ever seen and will make you wet your pants on a daily basis with her hilarity. She just wrote this fabulous cookbook which is so much more than just a cookbook. [Bonus: my close friend Ashley did much of the food photography for the book!] She is also vegan, which yeah… is the complete opposite of me.
But the thing is, we love a lot of the same foods. She just makes them with different (uhh… and healthier) ingredients and lots of vegetables. Ew?
I may not love vegetables, but I love delicious food. Really love it. Duh! And there have been countless times over the last year and a half I’ve been blogging that I’ve made one of her recipes (can we say dough balls?), because if she can’t get me to eat vegetables then I doubt anyone can. #imscrewed
The minute I got my hands on her book I made the thai veggie burgers.
Get.in.my.mouth.
Holy cow, these were flippin’ delicious. It was my first time making a veggie burger and I was more than pleasantly surprised. I want to lay my head down on a thai burger pillow tonight.
I also made a batch of the ever popular mmm sauce, which I promptly slathered on my [third] thai veggie burger.
Sure I’ll swim in this bowl. Thanks for asking.
And yesterday afternoon, I ate this chickpea strawberry salad then almost died.
Not because I ate so many vegetables at once, but because this salad was so amazingly good. I immediately wanted to pour the remaining cinnamon vinaigrette over my head. Then I emailed MamaPea and told her that this was probably the best cookbook I have tried recipes from since my beloved Williams Sonoma Handbook. That is huge! And it doesn’t even have bacon in it.
The recipes are mostly vegetarian with a handful of vegan ones, and are so easy but so delicious – I find them to be extremely adaptable for when you do want to add meat or in my case… need to add meat for that guy you life with. Trust me: you want this book. [If you have any doubts, just check out the SIXTY TWO 5 star reviews.]
Today you can enter to win a copy of the book! In addition, you’ll also get a “pea pack” with all of these fun things, and I’m totally jealous though I have no need for an apron that says “Mama” or a bib. Except for that guy I… yeah, you know.
To Enter: Just leave a comment on this post. Any comment. Go!
[Contest closes Friday, Aug 12th at midnight EST.] [If you absolutely can’t wait to get your hands on the book or want to order one for your friends, click here!]

i dont exactly need the bib, having no child and all, but i could easily start using it for those days where the napkins are all the way on the other side of the table…
I have a cousin who is vegan who comes to visit often and I’m always struggling for recipes she can eat so this cookbook sounds like one I need to add to my collection.
Um, strawberry salad for one please!
I don’t need a bib either, but I have great nieces and nephews, I’m sure I could find someone to use it!
This looks awesome! I’m on a journey of losing weight and have been trying to eat more veggies and this would be perfect! :) and the bib and stuff would be adorable when I have a kid someday soon!
I want to start cooking healthier, so this book sounds perfect!
And MamaPea may be funny, but you make me laugh consistently with your blog as well my dear.
I am not a good cook….at all, but I love to look at food on your blog. The way you describe this cookbook, it makes me think that I might even be able to whip up something amazing. ;)
This looks terrific, while I do like meat, I am discovering so many joys from eating meatless some of the time. Good for you and better for the environment too. Thank you for telling us about it. I might also have to go get the William & Sonoma Handbook… I had no idea it was so good. I believe you.
Yay! I would LOVE this cook book, as I’m trying to eat vegan 90% of the time, and get bored with the same ole’ thang.
Love your blog..it inspires me all the time to think out side my normal boring cooking box. I would love to win the cookbook because of my recent interest in eating less meat and more vegetables (I know.,..plain crazy!!) Thanks!!
Delicious!!! I love the creativity and simplicity of good, healthy food! Can’t wait to try the Thai Veggie Burgers!!!!
This cookbook looks amazing and I love the idea of arming myself with something that might help convince my husband that meatless eating isn’t such a bad thing! Your blog is fantastic by the way, I look forward to each new post.
Yum, those recipes sound amazing!
looks fab!!!
That salad looks amazing!!
My husband is a meat and potatoes kind of guy. I would like to start making one meal a week vegetarian. This book looks like it would be a great way to get my husband on board with the change.
Oh all of those look delicious. :)
This cookbook sounds like the gift from Heaven I’ve been searching for – my sweet beau is slowly coming around and starting to eat some vegetarian dishes, and more importantly, liking them! When we first started dating and I would ask him what he want for dinner, his answer was inevitably “uh….something with meat…yeah, that sounds good.” The first time I took him for falafel, he was amazed that it was vegetarian – and now refers to it as “that good fake-meat stuff”! I’m sure this book is full of plenty of delicious dishes that will keep him happy and me sane – I would love to win a copy! Thanks!
Would really love to try that strawberry salad recipe! ps – love your recipes!
Her cookbook sounds amazing! I love my bacon, but like to find balance with some non-meat recipes each week.
P.s, I made a side dish to my roasted chicken last night that screamed How Sweet! Think root veggies, bacon, white wine and honey…mmm! I’ll be sure to post the recipe soon:)
I love veggie burgers and anything thai infused!! I also love all of your cookie recipes, but heck, I can try something healthy!
I would love this cookbook. Also i love your site, i have cooked many recipes from here and my husband and i have looooooooooved everything we made, thank you very much.

That looks amazing! And I love the accompanying Pea Pack! I’m relatively new to your site, but I’m hooked. Thanks for the giveaway!
I am sooooo far from vegan or vegetarian, but I make a mean chick pea salad. My brother (aka pickiest eater in the entire world) regularly requests it. Now I have to try adding strawberries to it. :)
This would be perfect as I’m always struggling to come up with new ideas for “Meatless Mondays” in our house!
This cookbook would be perfect for me…..my 2yr old son REFUSES to eat meat!!!! He is totally practicing the veggie life style…..now if only his carnivorous could convert!
I need new recipies in my house. I think my boyfriend is tired of eating the same meals week after week :(
I have a newly vegan-ized BFF and she won’t eat dinner at my house any more (cause I like bacon) I really need this book!
This cookbook looks amazingly delicious. I’m just starting to really love and appreciate veggies, but I’m still having trouble coming up with a lot of recipes that are centered around veggies (and ones that I can get my boyfriend to eat — he’d eat meat all day if I let him!)
Thai veggie burger? YES PLEASE.
Everything looks great!
That cookbook looks great! We need to add more veggies into our meals
Cookbook! For me! please :)
I’ve been try to cook healthier for my husband and me and this cookbook would definitely give me some new ideas!
That cookbook looks awesome!
Oh yum! Mama Pea’s book looks awesome. Thanks!
I love your website! You crack me up with your green veggie phobia :)
The mess my husband makes while eating….he could use that bib. And I’ll put that cookbook to GOOD use.
That burger looks absolutely delicious!! I think I need to make the asap :)
This would be a great gift for my sister, who *is* a Mama and loves healthy cooking! (I might have to steal the cookbook from her every once in a while though…)
I would love to win this book.
This would be the perfect way to start introducing meatless dishes in my house!
I’ve heard so much about this cookbook. I’m dying for every recipe!
This would be great for my mom’s birthday, she always tries to find a way to make healthy food so even the kids would like it.
I would die if I won. Okay, no I wouldn’t BUT I would be super duper excited to make (& eat) everything in that cookbook.
Umm… want want want :) And throw in a jar of sprinkles, just because you’re you.
Love Mama Pea! She’s awesome!
Every time I see these book reviews I want the cookbook more and more. Either I need to win one already or just suck it up and buy it :) Likely the latter… stat!
I want this book! All the stuff you made looks like something my husband and I would definitely make.
The recipes you posted all look so yummy and I am definitely intrigued by what the rest of the book has to offer!
