Hiiiii.
So. I know I’m not a huge giveaway person, but I am totally blown away by your support and love and all that jazz lately, especially for Seriously Delish and how you’ve completely changed my life. I want to do, well… SOMETHING for each and every one of you and since I can’t buy you all a cocktail with a hug, I figured a giveaway of my favorite things would have to do.
This giveaway is from ME to YOU. I want to show you how much I appreciate you coming here everyday, the encouragement you’ve given me and your all around virtual fabulousness. You really do complete me, Jerry Maguire style. THANK YOU!
See below on how to enter to win all of these goods!
1. This Rebecca Minkoff Crosby tote. It’s no secret how much I love love love my mac clutch bags and mini macs. And my cupid satchel. I love every bag she makes and am totally drooling over this for fall.
2. Jeni’s ice cream! 4 pints to be exact. This should last you, like… five minutes.
3. A Vitamix blender. I’ve become the biggest hypocrite on the planet because for years I said I’d never buy one and would rather buy shoes. But I took the plunge earlier this year and it was seriously LIFE CHANGING. Talk about the thickest milkshake-like smoothies and the creamiest soups. To die for.
4. One year subscriptions to my favorite foodie magazines: Donna Hay and Delicious. These are my go-to for photography inspiration. LOVE. Nothing else compares in my opinion.
5. A fit bit flex. It’s been close to a year since I’ve gone on and on about my fit bit. I completely adore it – not as a workout tool, but more so as a reminder to live an active lifestyle.
6. Two of my favorite books: the Flavor Bible and Bird by Bird. One of the most frequently asked questions I get is how do I come up with recipes – and one of the answers is the Flavor Bible! If I really want to make something with a certain ingredient, I’ll search it and see what flavors pair the best. And Bird by Bird… well it’s a classic that gets me through life. Pretty much.
7. Ummm…. chocolate? Do I really need to explain this one? This is one of my favorites. I need to share.
8. Gift cards to some of my favorite places: $50 to each. One to Sephora, one to Athleta and one to Starbucks. Because I’m a sucker. (if you don’t like coffee GET THE CROISSANT!)
And lastly – this colorful set of my favorite le pen pens and a moleskin notebook (MY LOVE!). It’s school supply time people!! But really, these pens are the bomb dot com. (sorry.)
To enter this giveaway, leave a comment below telling me your magic moment from this summer. Please be sure to leave a valid email address with your comment so I can contact you if you win! For an extra entry, I would love if you’d preorder a copy of Seriously Delish and leave a second comment saying you did so. You can do so on amazon, barnes and noble or indiebound – and the book will be yours in less than TEN days! EEEEEK! I cannot thank you guys enough for helping me to make the book a bestseller. Drinks at a rooftop bar looking out at the Empire State building.
My magic moment was seeing one of my good friends get married.
I have followed your blog for a long time but have actually never left a comment. Your writing, photography, recipes, and humor are amazing and reading your latest post every morning at work brightens up my day! A magic moment from my summer was actually when my boyfriend took me to your Burger Bash class in June! I have made him so many of your recipes, but your burger class actually convinced him to try a quinoa burger and a tilapia burger, both of which he wouldn’t have touched before. We never would have guessed that you were so nauseated from your pregnancy! Thanks for the daily smile and inspiration and good luck with all of the exciting changes coming your way! :)
Also, I pre-ordered your book as soon as I found out I could. Can’t wait to get it soon! It will be just in time for my birthday! :)
My daughter and I had the most magical, emotional, miraculous summer. She got to meet her older sister for the 1st time. My daughter is 12 and her father passed away 5 years ago. I knew that he had an older daughter but I did not know how to locate her. She had a very common name. One morning I came into work and had a message on facebook from Tiffany White (my daughter’s older sister) She had found us!! We were both in tears. Tiffany and her mother came to visit us this last July and it was amazing!! We all bonded so well. I was really nervous to have to meet the ex wife but we were like best friends. And my daughter now has an amazing sister to look up to. :) BTW I LOVE your site. You had me at Caprese Pasta Salad. I’ve made it several times. Thank you for being you!! xoxox
My magic moment of this summer was when we closed on the purchase of our new house! We started building last summer and it was complete this summer. By far, the best moment of the summer was FINALLY getting to move in! YAY!
Yay Magic! I felt the magic this summer when I hiked the South Sister (Charity, 3rd highest mountain in Oregon) with an old friend. We had great conversation while we hiked, skinny dipped in Teardrop Lake (highest lake in Oregon) and when we finished, rewarded ourselves by eating a whole loaf of your Vegan Coconut Chocolate Chip Zucchini bread! As you know that bread is magic in itself, especially with home grown zucchini! Thanks for the perfect recipe for the perfect day!!!
And I also ordered your book about a month ago. I can’t wait for it to come in!! :)
My favorite part of the summer, as far as your blog is concerned was hearing you were pregnant!! I was sooo happy for you I actually had tears in my eyes reading your first long post about it!!!
An afternoon picnic with my fiancé looking out onto Manhattan. It’s important to find a happy spot you can call your own!
I had the most amazing summer! What could be more magical than spending my honeymoon on a luxurious cruise in the Mediterranean? Doesn’t get any better than that <3
Tie between finding my wedding dress (whew-glad that’s done with!) and buying a house with my fiance. Now all I need is a puppy! And a nice assortment of your various chocolate chip cookies to get me through the week….:)
Celebrating my daughter’s first birthday! We had a pink and gold giraffe themed event and I put a lot of work into it (I’m not very crafty or creative). It went better than I could have hoped and she had an absolute blast!
Finishing my summer class!! And getting a 97%. Never in my life have I accomplished such a high mark in school….. like, ever. :)
My most magical moment of summer was at my birthday dinner – eating the best food in Santa Barbara, with deliciously unique cocktails while sitting outdoors in perfect warm summer night weather, surrounded by my best friends who were visiting from all around the country.
My magic moment of the summer was watching my nieces for a long weekend. We went to the discovery museum, the boston aquarium, and had a tea party. Lots of fun and laughter :) Can’t wait till next year!!
My magic moment hit me when I got to see the pacific ocean for the first time! I lived on the east coast my whole life and went to California on vacation this August. It was amazing to see the mountains in the background while having my feet in the sand- craziness! Add in the palm trees, my boyfriend of almost five years, the Santa Monica pier ferris wheel, and a gorgeous sunset? Ugh. Too perfec.t
Also- I pre-ordered your book the day you announced its birth into the world :)
My summer “magic moment” was my anniversary weekend. My husband and I are going on 2 years and when July rolls around I get super excited to celebrate. We stayed in town and went to Uncle Dave Macon’s Day, a really awesome blue grass festival and on the day of he took me to Loveless Café in Nashville (If you haven’t been, drop what you are doing, fly to Nashville, and eat there…it is life changing!). And of course exchanging gifts was fun too, but getting some quality time together is the best gift of all.
I have been following you for 3 years now and I am inspired by your recipes all the time. Thanks for the giveaway and I will be preordering your book on Friday when payday comes!
This summer, my boyfriend had thrown around the idea of getting a puppy. While I’m a huge dog lover, I knew the challenges and responsibilities that accommodated the dog-parenting life, so chances of him getting his wish seemed slim. One hot Saturday afternoon, he decided to take me out for some ice cream to cool down. Of course, there’s a huge puppy store next door, so we went in… just “for a look.” My heart melted with every furry face that met my gaze, and I knew this was a lost battle when I saw a tiny wiry pup holding onto my boyfriend with the hope of never letting go.
Forty five minutes later, we left the store, wiry pup in hand, and the biggest grins on our face. It was magical to feel the warmth of love in that moment… or was that just the summer heat?! Anyway, our little Lulu has changed our lives, bringing us endless smiles and laughter everyday. I couldn’t be more happy with the result of our spontaneous summer surprise!
my magic moment was on vacation laying in the warm sun, sand everywhere, and feeling the breeze on my skin. its such a wonderful feeling but so easily forgotten as soon as i get home.

Watching my daughter take her first steps has been the highlight of my summer. She’s such a joy!
My magical moment (week) was going to the Finger Lakes with my husband, puppy, and family. Starting and ending each day on the porch looking at the lake…morning with coffee, evening with wine.
Going on a cross country road trip with my dad!
A hot lobster roll and a day in Newport, Rhode Island followed by Hawaiian Mules.
The best part of the summer would have to be my weekend at Outsidelands music festival in San Francisco. Not only is the city amazing, the people and music were unforgettable ^_^
Also I’ve pre-ordered your book because, uh how can I not? I just wish I saw the post sooner about getting it signed if I pre-ordered T__T
My magic moment of summer was rafting the deschutes river in Maupin, Oregon!
The best (but hardest) part of my summer is the birth of my second child- Summer Julianna!
Touring the White House & US Capitol! A-Mazing!
My magical moment happened this week when my husband and I finally finished our front yard renovation. We started it in May, when the porch steps were ripped off, and the new ones were completed the other day. Stairs are magical!
Vacation. Definitely the best part of this summer!
Mexico with my daughter!
My magic moment this summer, albeit a cheesy one, was standing in a dear friend’s backyard, surrounded by a privacy fence, during the ONE not stormy, not humid, not blisteringly hot evening in the month of July, and getting married to my best friend and love of my life. He wore suspenders, borrowed from my father, and I wore a bluey-grey lace Rent the Runway number by Nha Kahn (anyone else love that site? It is AMAZING and has never let me down) and we were surrounded by my closet friends and family, my aunt even put my cousin on facetime (he’s about nine hours away in Chicago). Apparently, our personal vows brought several to tears. Afterwards, we drank champagne and mimosas and ate our favorite snacks and cake. Everything was commemorated by a polaroid camera, and the little white framed pictures are scattered around our house. The night ended with karaoke at a little dive bar in town, where we all were dressed silly fancy for a Thursday night.
My husband is from out of the country so we had to tie the knot pursuant to his visa restrictions. We plan on having a full on wedding celebration next year so his family can come, but secretly, I think I’ll prefer this little backyard ceremony more than anything else.
Oh and I also pre-ordered your book, I just couldn’t resist!
