Hiiiii.
So. I know I’m not a huge giveaway person, but I am totally blown away by your support and love and all that jazz lately, especially for Seriously Delish and how you’ve completely changed my life. I want to do, well… SOMETHING for each and every one of you and since I can’t buy you all a cocktail with a hug, I figured a giveaway of my favorite things would have to do.
This giveaway is from ME to YOU. I want to show you how much I appreciate you coming here everyday, the encouragement you’ve given me and your all around virtual fabulousness. You really do complete me, Jerry Maguire style. THANK YOU!
See below on how to enter to win all of these goods!
1. This Rebecca Minkoff Crosby tote. It’s no secret how much I love love love my mac clutch bags and mini macs. And my cupid satchel. I love every bag she makes and am totally drooling over this for fall.
2. Jeni’s ice cream! 4 pints to be exact. This should last you, like… five minutes.
3. A Vitamix blender. I’ve become the biggest hypocrite on the planet because for years I said I’d never buy one and would rather buy shoes. But I took the plunge earlier this year and it was seriously LIFE CHANGING. Talk about the thickest milkshake-like smoothies and the creamiest soups. To die for.
4. One year subscriptions to my favorite foodie magazines: Donna Hay and Delicious. These are my go-to for photography inspiration. LOVE. Nothing else compares in my opinion.
5. A fit bit flex. It’s been close to a year since I’ve gone on and on about my fit bit. I completely adore it – not as a workout tool, but more so as a reminder to live an active lifestyle.
6. Two of my favorite books: the Flavor Bible and Bird by Bird. One of the most frequently asked questions I get is how do I come up with recipes – and one of the answers is the Flavor Bible! If I really want to make something with a certain ingredient, I’ll search it and see what flavors pair the best. And Bird by Bird… well it’s a classic that gets me through life. Pretty much.
7. Ummm…. chocolate? Do I really need to explain this one? This is one of my favorites. I need to share.
8. Gift cards to some of my favorite places: $50 to each. One to Sephora, one to Athleta and one to Starbucks. Because I’m a sucker. (if you don’t like coffee GET THE CROISSANT!)
And lastly – this colorful set of my favorite le pen pens and a moleskin notebook (MY LOVE!). It’s school supply time people!! But really, these pens are the bomb dot com. (sorry.)
To enter this giveaway, leave a comment below telling me your magic moment from this summer. Please be sure to leave a valid email address with your comment so I can contact you if you win! This giveaway is open to residents EVERYWHERE! All over the place. If you’re overseas I obviously can’t send you the ice cream, but we will work something else out.
For an extra entry, I would love if you’d preorder a copy of Seriously Delish and leave a second comment saying you did so. You can do so on amazon, barnes and noble or indiebound – and the book will be yours in less than TEN days! EEEEEK! I cannot thank you guys enough for helping me to make the book a bestseller. My magic moment from this summer was going up to New York to meet my fiance’s extended family (it was a reunion) and to be enveloped by instantaneous love by them — something I’ve never been able to experience with my own family.
I had several magical moments this summer, but one weekend in particular stands out. A few friends and I kept our phones and electronics and home and went away for the weekend. We had no idea what was going on in the world, and no one was checking their phone every 5 minutes. It was simple yet wonderful to be with such great company, eat such yummy summer treats and truly be in the moment.
My summer magic moment was suddenly noticing fireflies everywhere as the night set in over a grassy park.
My magic moment this summer was my business turning a profit for the first time ever! Not summer-related specifically, but a pretty big deal to me :)

My favorite moment this summer was standing up in a close friend’s wedding – absolutely amazing!
Sorry, it’s kind of boring – but my favorite moment was spending an entire afternoon floating in a pool, sipping a diet coke and eating cupcakes, surrounded by good friends. I’m so busy with work that often spills over to already errand/cleaning packed weekends that stepping back to fully enjoy a lazy summer afternoon was magical for me. :)
Magic moment this summer? At Burning Man today, nevermind rain that dampened the opener!

My magic moment was watching the sunset in Maine!
Summer bliss: ICE CREAM. HAND HOLDING. SEA BREEZE.
My husband and I were in Kennebunkport, Maine for our first wedding anniversary. My summer magic moment was a simple and perfect evening stroll.
We came back from our fancy dinner craving dessert, changed into casual clothes and decided on ice cream. I remember dying over the insane Goat Cheese & Blackberry Chambord Swirl flavor (OM freaking G deliciousness), chuckling over the fact my husband cannot hold hands and avoid ice cream drips at the same time, and thoroughly enjoying the crisp New England beach weather that makes it possible to throw on a comfy long t-shirt with jean shorts and it to feel just right.
Magic moment: Becoming an Iron Girl. I completed the Iron Girl Columbia triathlon this summer after many months of training!
My magic moment was watching my beautiful, cancer ass-kicking cousin marry the love of her life on a perfect day in Boothbay Harbor, ME.

Vacationing in Charleston, SC with the hubby!
My magic moment this summer was being able to spend loads of time with my hubby kayaking and being outdoors. We even enjoyed getting caught together in a massive storm on the water on a random Wednesday when we both took off of work. Just being able to laugh together when things don’t go right.
My summer magic moment was lying in a hammock with my momma chatting about life and enjoying her company.
I just pre-ordered too! Very excited to make some of your goodies!
My magical moment this summer was getting married!

Hi Jess! My magical moment this summer, was actually a couple of weeks ago when I had a dream where I was pregnant and had just had a baby. I don’t have any children and the feeling of complete and utter happiness I experienced in my dream was unlike anything I’ve ever felt before. It was an eye-opening experience (figuratively and literally) and I’ve never been more curious about becoming a Mother!
This is my second entry: I preordered the book last month on Amazon and can’t wait until September!
My magic moment has been spending weekends at our cabin with my family. Enjoying the last summer before my oldest starts school

my boyfriend and i bringing home our first puppy! although the excitement from that first night has calmed, he changed our lives for the better (except when he pees in the house…still a work in progress) and completed our little family. despite the challenges of raising a puppy, there’s no cuter face to come home to after a long monday or to wake up to on a lazy saturday. so much love for ourJasper babyface.
My magic moment was sitting on the top deck of the gorgeous house we rented in the outer banks enjoying the view with an orange crush and an awesome contemporary YA novel. It was a relaxing and peaceful way to end my summer before the hectic life of school and work started back up again!
Eeeeeeeeeeeee I finally pre-ordered YOUR BOOK!!! YAYAYAY
My hubby and I have had a challenging few months but we recently went up to Ontario for a week off (our first all year) relaxing by the lakes in cottage country. We were hoping for the kind of warm, sunny weather where the first thing you put on in the morning is your swimsuit and you’re popping in and out of the lake until evening comes late. Unfortunately, it was chilly and overcast much of the time. Mid-week, we stayed with some cousins at their cottage. We arrived to grey mist. We fell asleep to pounding rain. We woke up to cold drizzle. By lunchtime, the weather wasn’t improving, so we decided to hit the road and beat the traffic back to Toronto. As we slammed the car trunk closed on our suitcases, the sun finally came out, quickly warming us, and I said, “Of course, just as we’re leaving it’s swimming weather.” A wide grin quickly spread across my husband’s face. We popped the trunk open, dug out our bathing suits, and 5 minutes later had jumped into the lake, joined by three generations of cousins. The cool water jolted our hearts from the doldrums they’d retreated to over the previous few months. I’ve never felt more refreshed and carefree.
My magic moment was coming back to San Diego after being away for 3 months
My magic moment was having my Aunt (who is like a second mom to me) finally come home from the hospital after being sick horrifically sick in March. It took her until August 1st just to be able to walk with a walker again. It was so amazing to have her home after a long spring and summer of worry! We celebrated with our favorite mimosas (her first word when she finally had her breathing tube taken out).
I can’t pick just one! – farmer’s market + brunch, eating and drinking on patios, laying out and getting tan, and swimming.
Well…my magic moment of the summer occurred last Friday, when I tearfully (with joy) accepted what I think is the job of my dreams. Truly. I’m still a little emotional about it, and I can’t wait to start next week. :)
As a side (or for extra credit?). I wanted to let you know about two ways that you and your blog have impacted my life. First, before reading you I had no idea what arugula was and certainly had never tried it. Because of you I tried it and am now IN LOVE with it. I put it on so many things. And the second thing is, you taught me that a fried egg is awesome on top of things I never would have imagined (like say, a baked sweet potato, maybe with some arugula on top?). Anyway, you’re a joy to read because of your personality and you crack me up, but besides that, I just had to say thanks for making a difference in my food life. :)
My magic moment this summer was finally getting some time to relax and concentrate on what makes me happy and what I want to do with my life! I am currently working on my Ph.D. in social psychology and school stress tends to cloud things. It’s nice to get some perspective back, relax and spend time with my family and friends :)
I preordered your book a few weeks ago (I’m seabasscass on Instagram :)
Spending a week at the beach with my family. Lazy days and lots of food. The best.
