Hiiiii.
So. I know I’m not a huge giveaway person, but I am totally blown away by your support and love and all that jazz lately, especially for Seriously Delish and how you’ve completely changed my life. I want to do, well… SOMETHING for each and every one of you and since I can’t buy you all a cocktail with a hug, I figured a giveaway of my favorite things would have to do.
This giveaway is from ME to YOU. I want to show you how much I appreciate you coming here everyday, the encouragement you’ve given me and your all around virtual fabulousness. You really do complete me, Jerry Maguire style. THANK YOU!
See below on how to enter to win all of these goods!
1. This Rebecca Minkoff Crosby tote. It’s no secret how much I love love love my mac clutch bags and mini macs. And my cupid satchel. I love every bag she makes and am totally drooling over this for fall.
2. Jeni’s ice cream! 4 pints to be exact. This should last you, like… five minutes.
3. A Vitamix blender. I’ve become the biggest hypocrite on the planet because for years I said I’d never buy one and would rather buy shoes. But I took the plunge earlier this year and it was seriously LIFE CHANGING. Talk about the thickest milkshake-like smoothies and the creamiest soups. To die for.
4. One year subscriptions to my favorite foodie magazines: Donna Hay and Delicious. These are my go-to for photography inspiration. LOVE. Nothing else compares in my opinion.
5. A fit bit flex. It’s been close to a year since I’ve gone on and on about my fit bit. I completely adore it – not as a workout tool, but more so as a reminder to live an active lifestyle.
6. Two of my favorite books: the Flavor Bible and Bird by Bird. One of the most frequently asked questions I get is how do I come up with recipes – and one of the answers is the Flavor Bible! If I really want to make something with a certain ingredient, I’ll search it and see what flavors pair the best. And Bird by Bird… well it’s a classic that gets me through life. Pretty much.
7. Ummm…. chocolate? Do I really need to explain this one? This is one of my favorites. I need to share.
8. Gift cards to some of my favorite places: $50 to each. One to Sephora, one to Athleta and one to Starbucks. Because I’m a sucker. (if you don’t like coffee GET THE CROISSANT!)
And lastly – this colorful set of my favorite le pen pens and a moleskin notebook (MY LOVE!). It’s school supply time people!! But really, these pens are the bomb dot com. (sorry.)
To enter this giveaway, leave a comment below telling me your magic moment from this summer. Please be sure to leave a valid email address with your comment so I can contact you if you win! This giveaway is open to residents EVERYWHERE! All over the place. If you’re overseas I obviously can’t send you the ice cream, but we will work something else out.
For an extra entry, I would love if you’d preorder a copy of Seriously Delish and leave a second comment saying you did so. You can do so on amazon, barnes and noble or indiebound – and the book will be yours in less than TEN days! EEEEEK! I cannot thank you guys enough for helping me to make the book a bestseller. found out i was gonna be a grandma again!! :) joy
My husband and I both work for a tech company, and we are often so busy that we are constantly buried in our electronic devices. This summer, we decided to rent a cabin in the hill country for the weekend to get away from it all. It was stunningly beautiful, acres of land stretched in every direction. At night, we sat on the porch with a blanket and glasses of wine and looked up at the stars. In the mornings we enjoyed delicious breakfasts of fresh coffee, local fruit, and homemade bread, before beating the Texas heat with a cool dip in the pool. It was an idyllic trip, and reminded us to unplug and just enjoy each other’s company.
And I pre-ordered your book, about 10 seconds after you announced it in April because I am a nerd. Can’t wait for it to finally come out!
One of my majic moments was seeing my youngest daughter coming down the elevator at the airport terminal after being gone 3 weeks this summer! That’s the longest she had ever been gone from home and I really really had missed her.
Realizing that even though the summer is FLYING by, it means my trip to visit my family in the US is getting closer and closer – can’t wait!
Lots of good things happened this summer… I started a new job, booked our honeymoon (France and Italy next year!), and snagged tickets to a hockey game on New Year’s Eve. (And fiancé and I usually just stay in for the ball drop, so having “special” plans is extra exciting.) :)
Taking our 20 month old daughter to the zoo for the first time and seeing her face light up like never before. Magical!
Spent the week at the beach with my family! :)
Getting married on August 2nd was the highlight of my summer :)
Hubs and I took a trip to Yellowstone this year. Best moment was when a bison walked within three feet of our vehicle. By walked, I mean he trodden along. That boy was in zero hurry.
Preorder complete months ago :)
Finally took the plunge and started my own fashion blog. It features streetwear for girls, which I noticed there isn’t much of a market for. It’s a ton of work, and it makes me realize how much time and effort is necessary to blog on a daily basis. I’m hoping that it’ll be something I can look back on and be say, “Look…I’ve made it.”
I also received my first entry-level job, something that it extremely difficult coming out of college with what I believed was a decent GPA, a three internships and a ton of extracurricular activities. Times are changing and getting that first job isn’t as easy as anyone would have thought it to be with a Bachelor’s.
sitting with my husband outside on our 2nd floor bedroom porch/balcony/patio sipping coffee and working the Sunday crossword puzzle, or enjoying an early evening cocktail or glass of wine. perfection.
When my boyfriend & I bought our first home! We move in at the end of August & couldn’t be happier :)
My magic moment from this summer was spending a week with my entire family in the OBX! :)
I pre-ordered your book the very first time you told us about it! :)
In less than a year’s time, my hubs and I have tied the knot, sold a house {bachelor pad}, moved into a temp home, and bought another home which we are moving into in a couple weeks! It has been a whirlwind and an absolute test of our relationship {to say the least}. I have had many *magic moments* with my husband this summer, my favorite definitely is buying our first home together :)
(Please allow me to apologize in advance for the rambling that is this magic moment.)
I was mid-mini panic attack while attempting to send my passport out for processing at the post office because I: a) forgot my own PIN number, which forced me to come up with an alternative method of payment on the fly, and b) thought I lost my keys because all I could find were my spares.
In a moment of clarity, I called my cool as a cucumber husband, who told me how I left my “real” keys on the kitchen counter that morning and that I had been using my spares all day.
Yes, the people at the post office thought I was out of my mind…and no, they probably wouldn’t have approved my passport. Since my fate didn’t lie in their hands, I received my brand new passport this past Saturday.
A year and a half after our I do’s, I’m one step closer to (finally) honeymooning with my husband.
I pre-ordered your book, and because I am way too compulsive did the kindle edition first.. then the actual book-book. Can’t wait to meet you in Philly at your signing!! Yay!
Getting a new job!
Seeing monkeys, and holding a baby monkey, in the Costa Rican jungle! And also drinking copious amounts of daiquiris!
This summer has been a busy one for me! I took a 2 week vacation to Hawaii with my parents and brother and that was awesome. Lots of memories made there. Then at the end of July, I moved across country with my fiancé! Lots of new, exciting changes. :)
Not exactly one moment, but my magical adventure was a 3 week trip to Europe with my mom and sister. Amazing!
I also preordered two copies of your book – one for me and one for my mom! I got her hooked on your site and recipes too.
So many awesome moments, but one that will be hard to top was seeing the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland!
I also per-ordered Seriously Delish from Chapters Canada a few days ago – can’t wait!
My magic moment from the summer was our annual family and friends trip to a nearby winery for a night full of dinner, music, and, of course, wine! I look forward to it every year.
My favorite magic summer moments were when we all hung out by a pool. Just hanging out and having fun.
After over a year of busting my bum filling orders and being the jack of all trades for my start up online baby gifts biz I finally had enough money in the company account to pay myself a little something in July! Although this summer was filled with hard work and dedication and not as much about sun tanning, I felt really proud and like I am on my way!!!
My Magic Moment of the summer came on my 30th birthday. I was getting all dolled up for the big night out, complete with fancy hair and lipstick, which I don’t really wear. My four year old son gasped and said “Momma! You looks so beautiful!” Not only did it bring tears to my eyes, but it really softened the blow of leaving my twenties behind.
Not summer here yet, but we had a family weekend away last weekend (first time in 2 yrs) and it was awesome! We went with a bunch of friends, hired some cabins. It poured rain all weekend, and there was no mobile (cell phone) signal and you know what? That ended up being the best part! I’m already plotting a return visit :-)
The whole summer was a magic moment for me. It was a great staycation. Last year summer we moved cross country, summer before that I was pregnant & back & forth to Ecuador….it was a very needed summer staycation :)
At a small English festival called Secret Garden Party, dancing on a raft over the lake whilst watching the most amazing fireworks display which was set to a background of the Wizard of Oz movie! Totally magical.
Welcoming my first precious baby into the world was the most magical moment ever!
watching 4th of July fireworks from my friends porch go on for hours then driving home in the warm summer night
Getting a dock at the marina for our Sailboat after a three year wait and sleeping on the boat for the first time during a warm raining summer night.
I really had magic this summer when I went to the MAGIC Kingdom for the first time ever at the age of 47! It would be even more magical if I would win all this stuff. Jeni’s is my all-time favorite ice cream. And the rest of this stuff looks awesome too.
My magic moment was getting engaged!! On July 4 on a sunset cruise in a gorgeous 1960’s wooden boat and I was still completely shocked. I’ve been over the moon since and the rest of the summer has been filled with hundreds of other great moments enjoying being together and starting to plan our big day!
PS: Can’t wait to meet you at your NYC book tour stop!
Just pre-ordered your book on Amazon. Can’t wait for you to come to RIchmond! :-)
My magic moment of the summer was swimming with a sea turtle in Maui. It was pretty fantastic!
watching my infant and toddler play with my grandmother while visiting my hometown.
I became a first time mom to a baby girl!
My boyfriend and I visited Norway last weekend. We did a 22km round trip hike to a famous rock called Trolltunga (seriously, Google it, it’s incredible!). It had been drizzling and foggy the whole morning walking up, but about half an hour before we got there, the clouds cleared and we got the most magical view of the rock with the fjord and mountains in the background. We got some awesome pictures and it made it all worth it – the 9 hours of hiking, the pain that my entire body was in, the mud that we were covered in, all forgotten when we were standing on that ledge, on top of the world.
Getting my first job as a nurse!
I’m not typically one who buys cookbooks, but I couldn’t resist buying yours!! I’ve been following the blog for awhile now, and I’m so happy that you’re putting this book out! Can’t wait to get my hands on it next week (eek)!!!
I’m very thankful that i can say that I’ve had two most magical moments this summer. My husband surprised me by planning a trip to Disney World AND I got accepted to Johns Hopkins for grad school!
My magic moment this summer was getting to visit with my family- especially my nieces. I never really have any breaks with my job unfortunately, so it can be difficult to travel the 6 hours to see them. I hadn’t seen them in over a year, and even though I was only there for a couple of days, it was definitely what I needed!
My most magical moment this Summer was when my brother and his wife adopted a Shar Pei! I’m an Aunt now! He was rescued from a bad situation and will be very spoiled and loved by our family.
I preordered your book for my roommate and I and we can’t wait to start cooking! Thanks for sharing your fabulous recipes :)
My favorite time this summer was the week my family and I spent in Maine. We had a wonderful time with my 6 month old niece, Maisy! It was her first time to the beach and she loved it. Ate my weight in lobster rolls and ice cream :)
I am SO excited for your book and can’t wait to see you in Boston on your book tour!!!
What an awesome giveaway! My magic moment this summer was dipping my toes in the ocean in Bermuda — my new favorite place on the planet.
