Hiiiii.
So. I know I’m not a huge giveaway person, but I am totally blown away by your support and love and all that jazz lately, especially for Seriously Delish and how you’ve completely changed my life. I want to do, well… SOMETHING for each and every one of you and since I can’t buy you all a cocktail with a hug, I figured a giveaway of my favorite things would have to do.
This giveaway is from ME to YOU. I want to show you how much I appreciate you coming here everyday, the encouragement you’ve given me and your all around virtual fabulousness. You really do complete me, Jerry Maguire style. THANK YOU!
See below on how to enter to win all of these goods!
1. This Rebecca Minkoff Crosby tote. It’s no secret how much I love love love my mac clutch bags and mini macs. And my cupid satchel. I love every bag she makes and am totally drooling over this for fall.
2. Jeni’s ice cream! 4 pints to be exact. This should last you, like… five minutes.
3. A Vitamix blender. I’ve become the biggest hypocrite on the planet because for years I said I’d never buy one and would rather buy shoes. But I took the plunge earlier this year and it was seriously LIFE CHANGING. Talk about the thickest milkshake-like smoothies and the creamiest soups. To die for.
4. One year subscriptions to my favorite foodie magazines: Donna Hay and Delicious. These are my go-to for photography inspiration. LOVE. Nothing else compares in my opinion.
5. A fit bit flex. It’s been close to a year since I’ve gone on and on about my fit bit. I completely adore it – not as a workout tool, but more so as a reminder to live an active lifestyle.
6. Two of my favorite books: the Flavor Bible and Bird by Bird. One of the most frequently asked questions I get is how do I come up with recipes – and one of the answers is the Flavor Bible! If I really want to make something with a certain ingredient, I’ll search it and see what flavors pair the best. And Bird by Bird… well it’s a classic that gets me through life. Pretty much.
7. Ummm…. chocolate? Do I really need to explain this one? This is one of my favorites. I need to share.
8. Gift cards to some of my favorite places: $50 to each. One to Sephora, one to Athleta and one to Starbucks. Because I’m a sucker. (if you don’t like coffee GET THE CROISSANT!)
And lastly – this colorful set of my favorite le pen pens and a moleskin notebook (MY LOVE!). It’s school supply time people!! But really, these pens are the bomb dot com. (sorry.)
To enter this giveaway, leave a comment below telling me your magic moment from this summer. Please be sure to leave a valid email address with your comment so I can contact you if you win! For an extra entry, I would love if you’d preorder a copy of Seriously Delish and leave a second comment saying you did so. You can do so on amazon, barnes and noble or indiebound – and the book will be yours in less than TEN days! EEEEEK! I cannot thank you guys enough for helping me to make the book a bestseller. And comment #2 for preordering your book — I’m so excited it comes just in time for my birthday :)
Taking some totally awesome Harley rides with wonderful friends in the Texas hill country and Eureka Springs!!
Swimming in the warm calm gulf waters with 3 sweet boys ages 3,5 and 6 and counting 28 live sand dollars.
My favorite moment this summer was a friends wedding in a cool art warehouse. Good food, lots of wine and mini cupcakes! So much fun!
After a very stressfull summer, going to our vacation house near the sea and simply enjoying the silence together with my family was pretty magical.
Watching the fireworks from our deck on the 4th – previous owners of this house said we could see all kinds around the area, but I didn’t believe that it would be a very good show, I was very wrong! It was amazing!
my magic moment of the summer was definitely spending the 4th of July on the Chesapeake Bay with my family. My Uncle owns a beautiful house with its own dock and private beach. The whole week was spent in a beautiful place with beautiful people! The two moments that stick out the most were: sitting on the beach with my entire immediate and extended family with the sun shining and the Black Keys blaring! and my sister, aunt, and I ran a 5k together!
Spending time on Martha’s Vineyard watching the sunset and eating lobster!
Went to Costa Rica this summer with my family. Watching my Dad zipline (a bucket list item of his) and seeing his smile was a moment I’ll never forget!
My magic moment of the summer was spending the day in sunny (!) San Francisco with my mother, wandering through the mission, eating stuffed french toast :)
I moved in with the boy this summer AND we are fostering a dog! So lucky that I get to see him every day now, (instead of living 250 miles away)!
My magical moment was that I got engaged!
The following week, my new fiancé and I were on vacation in Prince Edward Island, Canada, and we ate a celebratory dinner outside on our deck of the cottage we rented. We ate clam chowder with clams that were fresh out of the ocean that day, with my homemade buttermilk biscuits with the blazing sun setting all around us. If I could attach a photo, I would! I was a moment I’ll never forget.
Made my first batch of ice cream (coffee) with the (loaned) 80’s ice cream maker my parents got for their wedding!
Getting to be there when my fiancé got to see his mother for the first time in 2 years. *lots of tears*
I started a vegetable garden this summer and it was amazing being able to cook with vegetables that I grew myself, knew where they came from, and how they were grown.
My magic moment was seeing my friend Melissa get married to the man of her dreams!
Also, I pre-ordered the book on 6/26 and can’t wait to get it!
My “magic moment’ came this summer on a spontaneous trip to the beach (5+ hours away). Hubs works long hours and after 3 years living in a big city, we still haven’t quite adjusted as we’d like and needed some real “time away” just to be with each other. Spending all day on a quiet beach and (cheese alert) watching the sunset was such a peaceful and MUCH-NEEDED thing.
Preordered like whoa…so excited to get your book!
I also pre-ordered the book. Congratulations!
Watching my cousin and her partner legally marry in Portland!
Second comment for preordering the book!
I ordered your book today on amazon.ca!! Can’t wait!!
My most magical moment was watching sailboats on Lake Union as the the sun set over the Seattle skyline.
Congrats on the book and thank you for such a wonderful give away!
My favorite summer moment was a MUCH needed day off in downtown Chicago with my fiance! Walking along the lake, a few hours being kids at the planetarium, and then eating our weight in bacon, burgers, eggs, and fries at Au Cheval. Perfect.
I think one of my favorite moments this summer was picking about 15 lbs of strawberries for my best friend who just had a baby. She was so sad she couldn’t get strawberries herself so I surprised her!
My favorite summer moment was spending the day rock climbing in NH (mountain love!), swimming, and eating ice cream :).
I can’t wait to get your book! I preordered it back when it was first available for preorder!
My magic moment was definitely when Casper was born. Even though his birth went nothing AT ALL like the way I wanted –which is totally a story for another time — hearing his sweet cry for the first time had me bursting into the happiest tears of my life. It was effing magical.
My magic summer moment was definitely when I saw my sons face when he saw his “new to him” car! I worked extra hours all summer to help him buy it, and it was worth all the effort plus some!! Love your recipes and positive energy in your posts. Keep up the good work, and good luck with your book! Your recipes are awesome!
my moment of the summer was with my dachshund Basil. he was diagnosed with cancer a few months back, and he quickly declined.
I made it my mission for Basil to have no pain, and to be as happy as he can be for all the rest of his days. no treatment (it would not cure), no vet visits. when the time came to say goodbye, I would not let that anxious feeling of a clinical setting be anywhere in his final moments.
we had a doc come to our house. Jason grilled Basil a big cheeseburger for breakfast. we played outside in the yard, and set up blankets and pillows. he played with new squeak toys. he ran with his sister, Rosemary. he wagged his tail and licked my hand.
I miss him so much, but this was such a wonderful day, for The Best Dog.
Sitting on my parent’s porch after a long day at the beach, finishing The Book of Life All Souls Trilogy, drinking a beer and listening to my family chatter and cook dinner all around me.
I pre-ordered your book way long ago. XXO
Woo! My summer magic moment was probably moving into our new house. Though it wasn’t without plenty of sweat (his) and tears (mine), we love our new space and have been lovin’ all the room in the kitchen. I’ve been baking like a fiend!
My FAVORITE moment this summer was when I married my husband. (It was lots of moments that day actually…) But it was totally magical. :)
Also comment #2 – preordered the book – cannot wait for it to arrive! My boyfriend is turning 30 next week and I’m looking forward to finding something bacon and booze related to make to celebrate!
Fave moment of Summer? Our Family “Run and JUST JUMP” contest off the diving board. inspired by my sweet 7 year old nephew who was having so much fun running down the diving board with that reckless, carelss childhood joy and then just leaping out into the pool. Everyone– parents, uncles, aunts, siblings, friends and newly met friends–from 5 to 72 joined the fun! First Prize? The first slice of watermelon!
My magic moment was spending an amazing 2 weeks in Europe with my husband – a wine and macaroon picnic in front of the Eiffel Tower was definitely magic!
Comment #2 because I preordered your book!
watching my two daughters walk hand in hand and trying to catch “a million” lightening bugs while my husband and I sat on the patio eating crostini’s and having a shandy– AMAZ-BALLS.
My magical moment was waking up before sunrise to hike in Yosemite with my husband. We got to the top of a dome and had an incredible view all to ourselves.
My magic moment was taking a road trip to disneyland with my best friends. Thank you so much for doing this giveaway!
comment #2–book pre-order complete. I’ll have a drink for you to celebrate!
Lots of small trips and travelling this summer! Nothing exotic, but it’s been fun taking the kids to places they’ve never been and meeting family they havent’ seen. :)
oosh. my magic moment is probably a combo of the hours i’ve spent with my husband at the random breweries around town. day drinking is now our saturday ritual, and it’s been a fun, relaxing way to spend the summer :)
My magic moment was at Sesame Place, when we took our 1 1/2 year old daughter for the first time and she saw her favorite character, Elmo in person at the parade. He is her favorite toy; she wakes up and asks for him right away. The look on her face, the way she threw her arms up and started screeching for him just made the 2 hour car ride/trip worth it. Seeing her so happy and excited made my heart melt. Best feeling ever. Hope to see you when you book sign in NY! (yalanomata@yahoo.com)
My most magical summer moment came from getting married after eight long years to best dude ever! All our fam and friends in one place….seriously magical :)
My magic moment of summer occurred on a very cool week (unseasonably 80 degree high in the middle of July; a wonder among all that live in Mississippi) and I got the chance to watch the sunrise as I went on my morning jog. It was amazing. One of those moments that make you tingle all over!
My magic moment was finally buying furniture for our little non-patio. It isn’t the most private of spaces, facing the public tennis courts and all. However, I haven’t been able to sit outside at home in years, and it’s been totally worth it to enjoy this nice cool summer!
My magic moment from this summer was probably the day I moved in with my boyfriend after five years together. Definitely something to remember.
