Hiiiii.
So. I know I’m not a huge giveaway person, but I am totally blown away by your support and love and all that jazz lately, especially for Seriously Delish and how you’ve completely changed my life. I want to do, well… SOMETHING for each and every one of you and since I can’t buy you all a cocktail with a hug, I figured a giveaway of my favorite things would have to do.
This giveaway is from ME to YOU. I want to show you how much I appreciate you coming here everyday, the encouragement you’ve given me and your all around virtual fabulousness. You really do complete me, Jerry Maguire style. THANK YOU!
See below on how to enter to win all of these goods!
1. This Rebecca Minkoff Crosby tote. It’s no secret how much I love love love my mac clutch bags and mini macs. And my cupid satchel. I love every bag she makes and am totally drooling over this for fall.
2. Jeni’s ice cream! 4 pints to be exact. This should last you, like… five minutes.
3. A Vitamix blender. I’ve become the biggest hypocrite on the planet because for years I said I’d never buy one and would rather buy shoes. But I took the plunge earlier this year and it was seriously LIFE CHANGING. Talk about the thickest milkshake-like smoothies and the creamiest soups. To die for.
4. One year subscriptions to my favorite foodie magazines: Donna Hay and Delicious. These are my go-to for photography inspiration. LOVE. Nothing else compares in my opinion.
5. A fit bit flex. It’s been close to a year since I’ve gone on and on about my fit bit. I completely adore it – not as a workout tool, but more so as a reminder to live an active lifestyle.
6. Two of my favorite books: the Flavor Bible and Bird by Bird. One of the most frequently asked questions I get is how do I come up with recipes – and one of the answers is the Flavor Bible! If I really want to make something with a certain ingredient, I’ll search it and see what flavors pair the best. And Bird by Bird… well it’s a classic that gets me through life. Pretty much.
7. Ummm…. chocolate? Do I really need to explain this one? This is one of my favorites. I need to share.
8. Gift cards to some of my favorite places: $50 to each. One to Sephora, one to Athleta and one to Starbucks. Because I’m a sucker. (if you don’t like coffee GET THE CROISSANT!)
And lastly – this colorful set of my favorite le pen pens and a moleskin notebook (MY LOVE!). It’s school supply time people!! But really, these pens are the bomb dot com. (sorry.)
To enter this giveaway, leave a comment below telling me your magic moment from this summer. Please be sure to leave a valid email address with your comment so I can contact you if you win! You can do so on amazon, barnes and noble or indiebound – and the book will be yours in less than TEN days! EEEEEK! I cannot thank you guys enough for helping me to make the book a bestseller. I have two magic moments! One was celebrating my 10 year anniversary with my wonderful husband. I am so blessed to be married to not only my best friend but an awesome man! The second was going to see my 86 year old Grandma! We live in California and she is in Connecticut and I hadn’t been back to her house in 20 years. She stopped coming here about 6 years ago cause of her age. We are a family of 5 and the cost to go back there was just too much plus we try to see my parents in Texas every other year so trying to get back to the east coast hasn’t been in our budget but we finally made it!!! It was so awesome having some of my kids meet her for the first time and for my family to see her house that I used to visit every summer. I am so grateful I got to spend that time with her but now I miss her even more…..of course :)
I preordered my copy from Amazon! Yay! Can hardly wait to get it!
My favorite summer moment was being at my grandparents cabin enjoying the peace and quiet on the lake and being with my entire family!
Preordered the Kindle edition. So excited!
My magical moment of the summer has been this past week. I moved away from family a year ago and this is my first visit back. Getting to see and play with my nephew has been incredible. Two-year-olds are adorable and exhausting!
My magic moment this summer came while I was eating outside in the yard with my little family, mourning over the summer about being gone because we didn’t get to do anything fun we had planned. My husband had job issues so we moved twice, which slurped up all of our time and budget! So our first trip to Disneyland, camping, the beach were all snuffed out. I was feeling pretty sad for us until my daughter told me all of her favorite things from this summer: picking raspberries, swimming, running around in the summer rain. She didn’t even mention the Disneyland we missed or any of our other crushed plans. I realized that the most magical and special moments in life are not the extravagant ones but the little things. That’s what we are composed of.
I can’t wait for your book. Whenever I get bored with dinner yours is the blog I hit. My magical moment was going on the motorcycle one beautiful sunday morning and smelling the lake and trees. For one minute I forgot about everything and just enjoyed.
My magical moment was when my sweet sweet boyfriend bought me a kitten!! so fluffy! love at first sight.
My magical moment was watching and experiencing my puppy’s reaction to his first visit to the beach! Priceless!
So many magic moments this summer, but I’ll pick one. Last week we were on vacation at the beach and my husband and I got the chance to take a long walk at night without the kids. We grabbed a cocktail, went and sat on the stone wall near the playground for a while and talked and talked, and then walked to the ice cream store and finished the night with milkshakes. Perfect!
My magic moment was sitting out on the porch, watching my husband grill some steaks, drinking some beer, and having our dog run around. It’s rare for us ever to slow down where we can really just enjoy the moment.
My magic moment this summer was simple. For my July birthday, I went to one of my favorite Mexican restaurants for late night Serrano Chile margaritas and lots of laughs with some of the best friends a girl could ask for. Bring on the margs!!!
And of course, I preordered a copy of Seriously Delish as a late birthday gift for myself. Love your blog and your love for all things neon and trashed up :)
Stargazing with my love. He claims to have seen several shooting stars… I’m pretty sure he’s using all his wishes to make sure I don’t call him on it :) Seriously so excited for your book to come out!!! Yay!!!
Last year, I moved away from the city I’ve lived in my whole life. My magic moment this summer was being able to go back home for a week and really appreciating my city and being back with my family!
My magic moment was when we had a wonderful night of eating outside, walking around town and getting ice cream with my kids! It’s exactly what warm summer nights should be.
My magic moment is falling in love for the first time. I’m not joking! I’ve always been a closed-off person, and somebody from my past re-entered my life at just the right time. I feel so open, so happy, so connected around him, and I never knew that kind of connectedness was possible. Feels good.
My most magically summer moment was moving into our new house! The move sucked but the new house makes up for it. Can”t wait till the book is released! I’ve pre-ordered 3…1 for me & 2 for Xmas presents.
My magical moment this summer was picking wild blackberries for the first time in our new yard while my 3 year old stuffed them in her mouth faster than I could pick :)
Hello, Jess!
My magic moment of the summer was the first breath after teaching my first yoga class! I was so relieved the long anticipated First One was over and I had officially complete my dream of becoming a yoga teacher. Maybe even more magical was having one student stop me outside the studio later in the week to give some heartwarming, positive feedback! Her words drove home exactly why I want to do what I just started to do, and I get very excited thinking about how much more I can do in the future.
I love it when people take the time to speak the gratitude that they could have kept inside or not even acknowledged, as I’m sure you understand from reading these comments. Speaking of gratitude unacknowledged, I’m usually a silent blog reader, but it’s about time I tell you how happy coming to your space on the internet makes me! I just pre-ordered Simply Delish online and can’t wait to bring more of your delightful whimsy into my kitchen. Thanks for all you do.

Magical summer moment…fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and shortbread enjoyed for breakfast on the backyard porch!
My magic summer moment is a simple one — when my boyfriend brought home a pint of fresh picked raspberries, they were the BEST I have ever had! They didn’t last long =).
My magic moment this summer was when my husband and I took our six month old baby boy to his first baseball game.
When we went to San Francisco and sat in the harbor looking at the Golden Gate Bridge.
Eating Tartine goodies – I hit submit too soon.
I love all of these things and reading your blog every week! I love you honesty and humor. I couldn’t possibly pick a single magic moment because every moment I have spent with my family and friends has been wonderful, I wouldn’t trade or change the time I spent with them this summer for anything.
HI! I’m super pumped for your cookbook, congrats! (note: I did not preorder it because my birthday is around the corner, so I’m hoping that it finds its way into my pile of birthday gifts).
My summer magic moment came in the form of completion of my first triathlon! I did it in 2 minutes shy of my goal time as well!
I pre-ordered your book too! I wish I could have gotten in on the the signed copy giveaway too, but either way I can’t wait for it to arrive!
One of my magic moments this summer was definitely spending the first night with my boyfriend in our new studio. Everything was in boxes and we were exhausted from moving, but it was so special to fall asleep in our home. :)

I think it would be leaving our daughter for her first day of college. I felt like I was leaving my little girl for the first day of kindergarten…that first separation wrench, yet I watched this beautiful and confident young adult go forward to embrace the new adventure in her life.
Greatest Summer Moment – This week. I bought a new home and am moving to PA. =)
My magic moment(s) this summer have been getting to know my baby girl who just turned four months. Smiles, cuddles and leg rolls. It’s been a wild ride becoming a mama but so so magical. You have so much to look forward to! Congrats!
This is awesome Jessica! That purse, I can’t even… My magical moment was visiting Hawaii for the first time: seeing the crazy fish while snorkeling, being inches away from dolphins, or just watching the sunsets with my husband. Wish I could stay here forever!
My magical moment this summer was discovering several fig trees right on campus, all right before the peak of the season. I love figs! (Plus I used a lot of them in your roasted fig parfait recipe)
My magic moment has been all the extra time I’ve been able to spend with my 2 year old nephew and 4 month old niece! From playground dates, to movie night, to hide and seek, each moment spent with them has been so much fun and such a gift! They are growing up so fast and I love being able to be an important part of their lives!
My magical moment is when I realized I wanted to help people and not live an unhappy life in the corporate world anymore. I started baking more and going to yoga everyday and am beginning grad school tomorrow to earn a Master in Social Work. Also thank you for being so honest and witty in your posts and making recipes that I drool over every time I visit the blog.
My Grandpa was a huge Toronto Blue Jays fan and my Grandma even joked that he would come back as a blue jay in another life. He passed away this summer and a few days after, I was feeling sad when i looked out my car window. There was not a cloud in the sky except for one shaped perfectly like a blue jay. As soon as I noticed it, it started to blow away. i’m not a cloud watcher by any means, so I know it was sign from my Grandpa and it felt like magic to me.
I pre-ordered your book weeks ago and can’t wait to get my hands on it!
Summer began with a big push working clinicals in an emergency room. Twelve hour shifts away from family meal time, play time and all the stuff that makes life good. The sweet moment of summer came when those clinical hours were successfully completed and my mind and body began to unwind from the previous stresses. The sweetest moments of summer have come at the end of summer – finding the creative energy and desire to express myself once again in the kitchen. Breakfast time with my son; time to knead the loaf of bread; to pluck a fresh tomato from the vine and have the juices drip down the chin; to explore a new recipe while teasing my families tastebuds.Everyone had gone on auto-pilot while “mom” was working. We are back on our flight plan and enjoying every moment, every meal, every quiet moment together.
My magic moment of the summer was when I went with my very best friend in the whole world to a 3-day music festival in northern Wisconsin. Just the two of us (besties from college) got to spend three days together relaxing in nature, enjoying tons of live music, dancing our hearts out, and laughing and crying about all that life has put us through in the last year. I recently ended a year and a half relationship, and so having this time with someone so dear to me was a wonderful chance to begin to heal. Nothing makes me happier than nature, friends, music and reflection.
Jess you are so fabulous.
I had a particularly magic moment this summer- we got engaged!! I’ll spare you the long version, which you can find on my blog, but essentially he was nervious and cute and awkward and jumped the gun on his planned hike proposal and just spontaneously whipped out his bended knee in the kitchen the night before.. So the next day we found a very pretty waterfall and re-enacted the whole thing, just us. So much magic and happy!
I have also preordered your book ;)
My magic moment was spending time with my family at our cabin in Michigan. We had some bad weather, but playing board games and staying inside was just fine by me.
My summer magic moment was my family’s first visit to the beach. My 4yo learning to wear goggles, hold her breath and see under the water in the Gulf of Mexico, she never wanted to get out!! And, my 1-1/2yo, who wanted nothing to do with the sand or surf. She clung to me like a spider monkey! But once she relaxed by day 3, she would just laugh and laugh as we jumped the crashing waves. Magic moments.
My most magical moment was meeting my new BF which is so sappy and weird and unlike me but what can I say…he’s fab! Love you, love your cookbook, love this giveaway!
My magic moment is whenever the weather had a cool down this summer, my husband would take me riding on our motorcycle up on one of the mountains nearby and I just love how calm it feels riding up there.
My magic moment this summer was celebrating my 2nd wedding anniversary with my husband with a delicious meal at a restaurant that we love. My husband surprised me by calling ahead and requesting the “chef’s table” next to the open kitchen so that we could chat with the chefs and ask them for cooking tips while we ate our meal!
Pre-ordered via Amazon and can’t wait!!
Hi! My most magical
Moment this summer was having a surprise 16th birthday party for my daughter! It was so much fun! We set it up In our cleaned out barn and served pulled pork sandwiches and coleslaw. We played loud music and stayed out late by the fire. I don’t know who had more fun, out friends or her’s!
I pre-ordered the book a couple of weeks ago. I have been counting down the days until it arrives!
My Magical summer moments included long bike rides with my hubby & a couple trips to our family cabin. I’m sad summer is basically over already!
I preordered your book awhile ago & can’t wait for it to come!
