Hiiiii.
So. I know I’m not a huge giveaway person, but I am totally blown away by your support and love and all that jazz lately, especially for Seriously Delish and how you’ve completely changed my life. I want to do, well… SOMETHING for each and every one of you and since I can’t buy you all a cocktail with a hug, I figured a giveaway of my favorite things would have to do.
This giveaway is from ME to YOU. I want to show you how much I appreciate you coming here everyday, the encouragement you’ve given me and your all around virtual fabulousness. You really do complete me, Jerry Maguire style. THANK YOU!
See below on how to enter to win all of these goods!
1. This Rebecca Minkoff Crosby tote. It’s no secret how much I love love love my mac clutch bags and mini macs. And my cupid satchel. I love every bag she makes and am totally drooling over this for fall.
2. Jeni’s ice cream! 4 pints to be exact. This should last you, like… five minutes.
3. A Vitamix blender. I’ve become the biggest hypocrite on the planet because for years I said I’d never buy one and would rather buy shoes. But I took the plunge earlier this year and it was seriously LIFE CHANGING. Talk about the thickest milkshake-like smoothies and the creamiest soups. To die for.
4. One year subscriptions to my favorite foodie magazines: Donna Hay and Delicious. These are my go-to for photography inspiration. LOVE. Nothing else compares in my opinion.
5. A fit bit flex. It’s been close to a year since I’ve gone on and on about my fit bit. I completely adore it – not as a workout tool, but more so as a reminder to live an active lifestyle.
6. Two of my favorite books: the Flavor Bible and Bird by Bird. One of the most frequently asked questions I get is how do I come up with recipes – and one of the answers is the Flavor Bible! If I really want to make something with a certain ingredient, I’ll search it and see what flavors pair the best. And Bird by Bird… well it’s a classic that gets me through life. Pretty much.
7. Ummm…. chocolate? Do I really need to explain this one? This is one of my favorites. I need to share.
8. Gift cards to some of my favorite places: $50 to each. One to Sephora, one to Athleta and one to Starbucks. Because I’m a sucker. (if you don’t like coffee GET THE CROISSANT!)
And lastly – this colorful set of my favorite le pen pens and a moleskin notebook (MY LOVE!). It’s school supply time people!! But really, these pens are the bomb dot com. (sorry.)

My magic moment hasn’t happened yet and I haven’t really had a summer – I have been finishing up my PhD thesis, which I’m handing in on Friday. 4 years of blood, sweat and tears (oh the tears! but the blood may be an exaggeration…) are going to pay off in four days. I know it hasn’t happened yet – but I have no doubt it will be magical! And so fulfilling. And surreal. And I should probably quit procrastinating and get back to the final touches…
But first I’m going to pre-order Seriously Delish!
And, I pre-ordered your book on Amazon on the day it was announced! Can’t wait for it to come.
My magic moment was the night of my 50th birthday, out to dinner with my husband and two children. Just perfect!
Best summer moment so far – sharing my favorite vacation ever, Ocean City, NJ, with my amazing boyfriend and his kiddos!
Riding our motorcycle through Wyoming. Beautiful!!
My magic moment of the summer was getting married! Thank you for the amazing giveaway and cannot wait for your book to be released!
My magical moment from the summer was sharing a bridal shower with my sister (and best friend). We’ll be married this fall just two months apart.
My moment this summer was watching my 8 yr old grandson , whom I am raising , ride for the first time a BIG amusement park roller coaster in the first car no less. Important for him because he said he didn’t like roller coasters. Even tho’ he caused my heart to stop a few times that night I realized he is growing up and because of him I can act like a thirty something first time parent and love every minute of being with him. He is truly a joy in my life . LFJ
We moved this summer from our home of ten years out to a rental in the country, and to say that my two kids were uncertain would be putting mildly. Luckily, the rental came along with two boxes of kittens, and the kittens have saved the day, My kids are in love and all is good, so adorable fluffy kittens get my vote for the best part of our summer.
My magic moment this summer was celebrating my first wedding anniversary! I can’t believe the year has already flown by – I feel like at this pace we will be celebrating twenty before I know it. :-)
Love summer as it usually is made of simple, magical moments strung together like stars across the sky. This summer was not so great, kind of a bummer, too much bad news among the ones I love. So, the moment that stands out is one I turned inward. I’m in yoga class, I’m the oldest person there by like 30 years (61) and the teacher instructs us to do bridge pose or if it’s “in our practice,” she says, do wheel, which is a full back bend. Let’s just say wheel is not now and has never been “in my practice.” But something told me to give it a go and I got in position, pushed up as hard as I could and the next thing you know, TA DAH, full back bend. A reminder to me to be grateful in that moment and all the ones to follow for what I have within, my health, my joy and my ability to persevere with the help of my family and friends. Magical moment indeed. Much luck with the book. Can’t wait to get mine!
My birthday! It rained all day but it didn’t matter,we did my favorite things all day! My husband took me to a vineyard for a special lunch, and to another winery for a wine tasting, followed by a big family dinner at my favorite German restaurant. It was just a perfect day– good wine, good food, all while surrounded with all the people who mean the very most to me.
I just pre-ordered Seriously Delish!! Can’t wait!!
I just turned 56 yesterday. Mt husband and I starting hiking three months ago. My magic moment was yesterday, when I realized my body is really improving on these hikes….I can do more challenging hikes and it feels really good!
Jessica, as odd as this may sound, my “magic moment” this summer came in a very odd way… On July 7, out of the clear blue and in otherwise fabulous health, what I thought was back pain, would become diagnosed as lung cancer, that had already spread to my bones.
I work at a small artisan bakery doing pastry work, in Hudson, Ohio. I have been enveloped with family, friends, customers and best of all, the many people in the food world that I have come to know through work. We have some of the best independant restaurants in the area, which makes for a network of caring and involved owners and employees. I can’t tell you how many of these people who have contacted me to offer love and support, food, and prayers.
So besides having the best husband and children in the universe to get me through this, I thought you might enjoy a different view on the love of all things food!
I am spurred in each day by the thought of ” maybe I’ll come up with something new…different today?!” The will to continue, the hope of being creative, and involving myself with people such as yourself, who are just excited to offer something as simple as ….food, puts a smile on my face every morning.
Making people happy is as good as anything can ever be:)!

My magic moment this summer was spending time with my family on vacation in Florida over Fourth of July and realizing how lucky we are to have each other…nothing else in life really matters unless you have those people who love you and support you. Thanks for a great giveaway!
My summer moment was making the cakes for my friend’s wedding and the Dallas heat not melting the icing off before I got them there and got them set up! It was so hot that day!
I also preordered you book several weeks ago. Can’t wait to get it!
My moment this summer was giving birth to my son on July 21st. I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter, and he just completed our family.
My magic moment was traveling cross country with my two year old. Magic because he traveled like a pro (I was shocked at how well behaved he was). Best summer vacation ever!
My entire summer was a magic moment as I sent it on beautiful Prince Edward Island.
My magic moment this summer was feeling my baby move for the first time. She’s due in October and I can’t wait to meet her!
My magic moment this summer was when I got married to my best friend. :)
My summer has been a little rough, but I can name two magical moments that truly improved it! The first was seeing my best friend for the first time in a long time and having an impromptu marshmallow roasting session in her backyard. I’ve never felt as loved as I do around her, and some seriously delish (see what I did there? :b) s’mores never hurt when making the summer magical! The second moment may be a little cheesy, without the actual cheese, but I made a how-sweet-inspired black bean, corn, and basil salad using your amazing chili-lime dressing and cornbread croutons… and, no joke, it has probably been 75% of my meals this season at least. I can’t stahhhhp. Nothing like eating something healthy, and vegan, yet freaking amazing every week to make summer feel fresh and decadent! Thanks to your amazing blog. (:
my.neon.sky at gmail, just in case!
My magic moment for the summer will be when you come to Tampa on sept 2nd! Can’t waIt to meet you!! (Is it still summer if it’s September? Because this is pretty much the most exciting thing I’ve done in months…)
My magic moment this summer was being aw to be with my husband while he worked out of town for 7 weeks. We really connected during that time together.
My magic moment from this summer was moving across the country from Wisconsin to Florida! I’ve never done anything crazy like this and wouldn’t have been able to do it without my amazing husband! We wanted to be closer to his family and watch his adorable nieces grow up. So far we are loving it and can’t believe we didn’t move sooner! :)
My magic summer moment was being able to enjoy my time off and do things for me.
Moving my daughter into college. And my son moving back home.
My magic moment this summer was me finally getting a job offer in July after a long year and a half of searching; I pray for all the others out their searching – keep the faith and blessings will come your way as well. I have to say that without my love of cooking, sharing, and reading your blog to keep me positive my summer would have been the pits, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart that you shared and gave me wonderful ideas to help me keep my mind on the good things, the lovely things – :)
This will be a summer I will long remember. My husband and I finally became pregnant after a year of trying, and we are sooooo happy! One morning when I had slept in after a slightly rough, sleepless night, I woke up to a fluffy robe and a grinning, accomplished husband, who led me out to our little, cleaned-up deck for a table of sparkling mimosa, my journal, and a pretty plate of cheeses, fruit, and eggy bread! I was so surprised, it was so thoughtful and well planned out. It was a perfect day of pampering, and it has been a wonderful season! And you have wonderful ideas, delish treats, a fresh approach to every day, and I have enjoyed all of your blogs. Such a generous giveaway! For all of your sharing, thank you so much!
My magic moment…
My daughter saying “momma” for the first time1
Oh and the first bite of the delicious peach crumble I whipped together yesterday :-)
My magic moment from this summer was floating on my pretzel floatie in a quarry as the sun went down and the place cleared out. So peaceful!
My most magical summer moment was running a 5k with my boyfriend. It was his first race a d we had so much fun. It brought us closely together training for the race, and I have never been so proud watching him cross the finish line.
My whole summer was pretty magical! We moved back to Traverse City after being away for 8 years so we really tried to enjoy every minute of summer!
We had a huge party for 4th of July – 60 people – that we housed/fed for the entire weekend. There was a ton of prep work. Once they left, it was ahhhhh! The house is clean, and now we can relax. Pretty amazing moment!
My magic moment this summer was the birth of my baby girl Laura. She’s a dream!!!
What comes to mind first are all of the times we took our daughter to the park (ranging from 7-9 months) and seeing her light up on the swing. Even at her crankiest, the swing reset her and she was happy as a clam.
You’re the best….. really. My summer has been a consistent series of magical moments. My position as Director of Oklahoma’s largest farmers market has been a dream. Working with farmers, ranchers, dairy producers, chefs, artists and musicians AND being surrounded by the best & freshest in local food twice weekly, it’s just been sublime. And then there is my husband, of now, eleven years. He is my rock, my light, my love….. I could go on., but I won’t. Thanks so much for this incredible giveaway. I read every blog post, often share your work on my facebook pages, but don’t think I’ve properly commented in the past. Thanks for everything.
xoxo – Penni
I live in Australia and summer is just approaching us slowly. But I look forward to exploring the beaches of this beautiful country with my adorable 5 year old.
My favorite moment was watching my 4y/o swim without swimmies.. The proud look on his face was priceless

I can’t wait, seriously. September 2nd, it said. YEA!!!
My most magical moment of this summer was when I realized that the pain of last year’s breakup (after 15 years together out of the sudden) is beginning to be overlayed by a new love. I’m the happiest girl to have someone with me who is not only caring, but the most patient, fun, hilarious, loving and good looking guy in the world. May I keep him – like for forever? Please…
I moved into my first real apartment from the dive I used to live in this summer. My roommate and I had given up hope of finding a decent place before my old land lady’s sudden “I want this space back” move out notice, when all of a sudden we stumbled across this gem. In-unit laundry, a jacuzzi tub, energy efficient fixtures, pet friendly, and they let us move in within the week. This was all incredibly last minute and I went from being on the verge of homelessness to having the perfect apartment in the space of three days. Wonderful.
My greatest moment was to hold our first Great Grandson!! He looks just like our Grandson, his Father!! What a wonderful blessing to be able to be part of their family, and they actually like us to be near them. So we are moving to be Abe to bring our family closer together!
We will be four generations living close together, all helping each other! Life doesn’t get any better than to be needed!
My magic moment from this summer was our fantastic holiday to my most favourite place in the world, San Francisco. Sitting in the Maritime/Aquatic Park with a warming hot chocolate against the cool breeze, watching the sunset over Golden Gate Bridge made me realise I might not ever see it again. It’s such a perfect sight to see!
