Hiiiii.
So. I know I’m not a huge giveaway person, but I am totally blown away by your support and love and all that jazz lately, especially for Seriously Delish and how you’ve completely changed my life. I want to do, well… SOMETHING for each and every one of you and since I can’t buy you all a cocktail with a hug, I figured a giveaway of my favorite things would have to do.
This giveaway is from ME to YOU. I want to show you how much I appreciate you coming here everyday, the encouragement you’ve given me and your all around virtual fabulousness. You really do complete me, Jerry Maguire style. THANK YOU!
See below on how to enter to win all of these goods!
1. This Rebecca Minkoff Crosby tote. It’s no secret how much I love love love my mac clutch bags and mini macs. And my cupid satchel. I love every bag she makes and am totally drooling over this for fall.
2. Jeni’s ice cream! 4 pints to be exact. This should last you, like… five minutes.
3. A Vitamix blender. I’ve become the biggest hypocrite on the planet because for years I said I’d never buy one and would rather buy shoes. But I took the plunge earlier this year and it was seriously LIFE CHANGING. Talk about the thickest milkshake-like smoothies and the creamiest soups. To die for.
4. One year subscriptions to my favorite foodie magazines: Donna Hay and Delicious. These are my go-to for photography inspiration. LOVE. Nothing else compares in my opinion.
5. A fit bit flex. It’s been close to a year since I’ve gone on and on about my fit bit. I completely adore it – not as a workout tool, but more so as a reminder to live an active lifestyle.
6. Two of my favorite books: the Flavor Bible and Bird by Bird. One of the most frequently asked questions I get is how do I come up with recipes – and one of the answers is the Flavor Bible! If I really want to make something with a certain ingredient, I’ll search it and see what flavors pair the best. And Bird by Bird… well it’s a classic that gets me through life. Pretty much.
7. Ummm…. chocolate? Do I really need to explain this one? This is one of my favorites. I need to share.
8. Gift cards to some of my favorite places: $50 to each. One to Sephora, one to Athleta and one to Starbucks. Because I’m a sucker. (if you don’t like coffee GET THE CROISSANT!)
And lastly – this colorful set of my favorite le pen pens and a moleskin notebook (MY LOVE!). It’s school supply time people!! But really, these pens are the bomb dot com. (sorry.)
To enter this giveaway, leave a comment below telling me your magic moment from this summer. Please be sure to leave a valid email address with your comment so I can contact you if you win! For an extra entry, I would love if you’d preorder a copy of Seriously Delish and leave a second comment saying you did so. You can do so on amazon, barnes and noble or indiebound – and the book will be yours in less than TEN days! EEEEEK! I cannot thank you guys enough for helping me to make the book a bestseller. My magic summer moment has been just taking as much time with my 2 daughters as I can. My baby starts all day kindergarten this year and I am trying to enjoy her while I still have her here with me.

My magic moment of the summer was at my cousins graduation party. He had his party at a hall with a live band. At the end, nobody was dancing and the band went on to play one last song; the song was “time of your life” by Greenday. Apparently this song was my parents song years ago. So, with no one else around, they got up and slow danced. It was probably one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.

Magical Moment of the summer- I don’t know if you’d really call this “magical” but my city, Berkley, Michigan was greatly affected by the huge flood/rainstorm Michigan endured in Mid-August.. so watching 2 feet of water pour into my basement from my sewer was pretty…. magical. What was really magical was all the bleach it took to clean it up!!! Oh good times!!

My magic moment of the summer was watching my brother get married. Seeing him see his beautiful bride for the first time was magic for all of us!
My magic moment only comes to be seen as magical when you look at the bigger picture of sadness that surrounded it. I miscarried my first pregnancy at 9 weeks on July 11th of this summer following weeks of complication, and after spending two weeks drowning in sorrow and tears my husband and I decided to face the outside world. We couldn’t handle much, there’s danger everywhere, waiting to pounce on you and remind you of how much you lost- but we went and saw the movie Chef, with John Favreau and for the first time in about 4 weeks we laughed. We laughed so hard, then we went out to the box office and bought two more tickets and watched the movie again. So, while it seems like an ordinary moment, it was then that I remembered how magical it is to laugh, and to be in love with my husband. And while we cried again, and still do, I can look back and know that little by little we are going to heal and find more magic.
I ordered seriously delish (!!!!!!!!!!) and was just wondering if you were still accepting autograph requests (I remember something in a blog post how you could sign up?)
The moment when I had a *perfect* summer peach and caramelized it, only to combine it with fresh mozzarella and freshly picked basil leaves with a drizzle of olive oil and vinegar to make the peach caprese with smoked sea-salt! Truly amazing. Mopped up the leftovers with toasted whole wheat pita bread. A perfect summer salad!
Most magical moment? Hiking 70-ish miles with my dad and brother. Spending time with them doing what we love is precious!

magic moment of the summer- ordering my wedding dress!
This summer was the first time I’ve been home in 2 years as I have been studying in the UK. Both my parents work full time jobs, but took a week off so the whole family could go on a vacation to Japan.
My mother has always wanted to see the lavender fields of Hokkaido, and this was the perfect time of year to experience this. We visited a little farm out in the countryside that had an alpaca petting zoo in addition to a lovingly groomed patchwork of various flowers laid over the hills. It was a warm, sunny day, with a few puffy little clouds studding the bright blue sky. Sitting on plastic chairs under an umbrella together, licking our gently melting lavender soft serve ice creams (incredibly light and delicious, a must try if you are ever in the area) and admiring the view; that was a moment where everything was perfect and beautiful.
I’m back in England now where the weather is a bit more dreary, but the memory never fails to cheer me up. I need another Japan vacation ASAP!
My magic summer moment was being on the beach with my 6 week old niece. She looked absolutely adorable in her coral bathing suit and I loved sharing that moment with her and can’t wait to tell her about it when she’s older! Beach babes can never start too early :)
