Hiiiii.
So. I know I’m not a huge giveaway person, but I am totally blown away by your support and love and all that jazz lately, especially for Seriously Delish and how you’ve completely changed my life. I want to do, well… SOMETHING for each and every one of you and since I can’t buy you all a cocktail with a hug, I figured a giveaway of my favorite things would have to do.
This giveaway is from ME to YOU. I want to show you how much I appreciate you coming here everyday, the encouragement you’ve given me and your all around virtual fabulousness. You really do complete me, Jerry Maguire style. THANK YOU!
See below on how to enter to win all of these goods!
1. This Rebecca Minkoff Crosby tote. It’s no secret how much I love love love my mac clutch bags and mini macs. And my cupid satchel. I love every bag she makes and am totally drooling over this for fall.
2. Jeni’s ice cream! 4 pints to be exact. This should last you, like… five minutes.
3. A Vitamix blender. I’ve become the biggest hypocrite on the planet because for years I said I’d never buy one and would rather buy shoes. But I took the plunge earlier this year and it was seriously LIFE CHANGING. Talk about the thickest milkshake-like smoothies and the creamiest soups. To die for.
4. One year subscriptions to my favorite foodie magazines: Donna Hay and Delicious. These are my go-to for photography inspiration. LOVE. Nothing else compares in my opinion.
5. A fit bit flex. It’s been close to a year since I’ve gone on and on about my fit bit. I completely adore it – not as a workout tool, but more so as a reminder to live an active lifestyle.
6. Two of my favorite books: the Flavor Bible and Bird by Bird. One of the most frequently asked questions I get is how do I come up with recipes – and one of the answers is the Flavor Bible! If I really want to make something with a certain ingredient, I’ll search it and see what flavors pair the best. And Bird by Bird… well it’s a classic that gets me through life. Pretty much.
7. Ummm…. chocolate? Do I really need to explain this one? This is one of my favorites. I need to share.
8. Gift cards to some of my favorite places: $50 to each. One to Sephora, one to Athleta and one to Starbucks. Because I’m a sucker. (if you don’t like coffee GET THE CROISSANT!)
And lastly – this colorful set of my favorite le pen pens and a moleskin notebook (MY LOVE!). It’s school supply time people!! But really, these pens are the bomb dot com. (sorry.)
To enter this giveaway, leave a comment below telling me your magic moment from this summer. Please be sure to leave a valid email address with your comment so I can contact you if you win! This giveaway is open to residents EVERYWHERE! All over the place. If you’re overseas I obviously can’t send you the ice cream, but we will work something else out.
For an extra entry, I would love if you’d preorder a copy of Seriously Delish and leave a second comment saying you did so. You can do so on amazon, barnes and noble or indiebound – and the book will be yours in less than TEN days! EEEEEK! I cannot thank you guys enough for helping me to make the book a bestseller. Magic Summer Moment = Celebrating my grandparent’s 60th wedding anniversary in the mountains of NC with 45 members of our fam. So special.
During the 4th of July weekend my family went up to Lake Tahoe and spent the weekend outside together on the lake. Being in a place where you don’t use your phone or watch TV with the people you love is the best feeling.
I pre-ordered Seriously Delish :) I can’t wait!!
My magical moments tied in together – having a summer of “goodbye” parties to commemorate years of living together with fabulous roommates, and moving into a tiny rental house with my wonderful boyfriend and kitten.
Spending the last two weekends with my fiance and friends in Avalon (the REAL Jersey Shore!!), finally being back on the beach with the breeze and the sun and the water, drink in hand, has been SO reinvigorating. Summer, don’t end!!!
My magic moment this summer was the late afternoon my husband and I spent at a seafood and raw bar restaurant. We had the most amazing 24 oysters and bottle of rose and the weather was to die for. The waiter made it even more magical by instructing us on how to really enjoy the oysters and the wine together. We all talked about the flavors merging…it was a very transforming moment with food. My husband and I haven’t felt that relaxed since our honeymoon last fall!
enjoying my magic moment now at the beach with my whole fam!!
At our 2nd annual 4th of July Neighborhood party a neighbor found out from another neighbor that I was the “Easter Bunny” for her son. I choose one child and then hide 1 dozen candy filled eggs in their front yard along with a note from the Easter Bunny. I also leave a basket with grass in it to put their eggs in.
Anyway, after she found out I was the Easter Bunny she ran over to me and gave me a big hug. You see, she had forgotten to hide his basket and after searching all over the house he woke her up and through his tears told his Mom that the Easter Bunny had forgotten him. She told him to look again and snuck his basket out the back door where he found it. Just after finding his basket in the back yard, his father opened the front door, found the basket and note, and made a little boy very happy.
I’m not sure which neighbor saw me hiding eggs but my secret is out now. So, my magic moment was when I got a big hug from a grateful Mom for something I did at Easter.
preordered your book last month and can’t wait to get it, congrats!!
All summer long -backcountry camping, mountain biking!
Loving the outdoors, enjoying beautiful B.C.
I have preordered your fantastic cookbook as well.
My magical moment from the summer was spending time with my family on our boat and at the beach.
I pre-ordered the cookbook on Amazon. CANT WAIT!
The magical moment from this summer was the one when I realised I’m free from my depression. After two years of therapy and medication I suddenly felt that the weight that’s been pulling me down, the black hole in my stomach and all the anxiety was gone. I was really really happy for the first time in a so long time. So excited about the future right now!
My magic moment was celebrating 16 years of marriage with my hubby at Red Rocks in Colorado seeing the Avett Brothers for the first time. Perfection!!
My magic moment of the summer was when my boyfriend and I were at a Hillsong Concert and we adopted a little girl from Compassion International…when I saw her picture, I burst into tears…I can’t wait to send her letters and meet her one day!
well, since I’m probably #50000000000 to comment on this giveaway… I’m going to say I’M WINNING ALL THAT!!!!! ;) glass half full, you know. I am SOOOOO excited for your book! But, I be broke, so I am going to just have to wait it out and get it for Christmas!!! :) Super excited for you. let’s see, magic summer moment… AH! The lake with my family! My husband and 3 little boys went to Canyon Lake and spent all morning eating peanut butter and apples and trying to catch fish in a bucket and playing in the sand on the shore and waiting for speed boats to come by and make waves for us! simple and perfect.
Spending a weekend camping by Lake Michigan with my Niece and Nephew’s. Those sunsets can’t be beat! I’m so excited for your book release!!
Discovering you this summer! Loving all your tips, recipes and fun advice.
Magic for me was how often I got to go geocaching with my bestie this summer. We saw many amazing sights and ate some amazing food while camping. I think a while chocolate s’more with fresh raspberries was the most magical food I ate, but eating popcorn while watching the fire dance in the pit was pretty cool, too. And coming home to catch up on your blog was special, too. Had to say it. :-)
My magic moment was getting to go on vacation with my husband. This is the first year he was not in law school, so we soaked up every moment!
My magical moment was making homemade vanilla bean ice cream and warm chocolate sauce as a family. Seems like such a simple summer thing to do, but we had a blast and it was DELISH. A tradition in the making!
Eating bacon cheeseburgers, drinking lemonade, in the yard with my kids!
Nerdily reading the Declaration of Independence and drinking beers with my friends on July 4!
My magic moment of the summer was celebrating my 1 year wedding anniversary with my husband in Austin at the most AMAZING restaurant I’ve ever been to!
I pre-ordered your book WAY back in April and I can’t WAIT for it to arrive in just a few days!
And I pre-ordered Seriously Delish! Kindle version!
Spending the day in Beacon, NY with my girl friends. We took the train from NYC to Beacon along the Hudson – so pretty. Saw evocative and inspiring art at Dia. Walked the Beacon main street enjoying the locals and ate at the most delicious cafe, Ella’s Bella. Seriously, it was so good. I now understand the whole Parisian macaroon craze. I blow my taste bud’s minds. Crazy delicious peanut butter brownie and a cold corn coconut chowder that I day dream about. You have to visit this cafe. Such a lovely day with great friends.
Well, at the beginning of the summer I bit off more than I could chew by adopting a senior dog who was pretty severely neglected and days away from being put down, but my moment came after almost two months when she was strong enough to stand up on her own and walk farther than 20 feet. By far, the most gratifying thing that I’ve ever experienced!
My magical moment this summer was sitting on my friend’s steps in her backyard, after everyone had left the overwhelmingly amazing engagement party she threw me and my fiance. Just relaxing by candlelight/moonlight, shoes off, cocktails in hand, grazing on the leftover snacks and recapping the afternoon and evening. I felt very happy, very fortunate and very loved.
My favorite moment has yet to come but will be in any day when I welcome my second son. but I guess the best part of this summer is enjoying my first while he is still the only child:)
My magic moment of summer was cooking in the kitchen with my husband (well, mainly having him cook and then benefiting from his creations – many of which stemmed from your recipes). Each week we would pick out a few recipes from your blog (and a few other favorites) and just ENJOY being together in the kitchen (rather than a busy restaurant), cherishing a delicious home cooked meal with locally sourced ingredients. Thank you for being such a foodie inspiration, Jessica!
I preordered your book… CAN’T WAIT TO GET IT!
Taking time for me! : )
My favorite moment this summer was standup paddle boarding with my family at Lake Tahoe!
My magical moment this summer was at my Aunt’s 80th birthday. There were cousins there that I hadn’t seen since we were children. Finally my husband was able to meet the whole family. Oh, and it was in Florida which was a nice change from the Texas heat!
My magic summer moment was celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary with hubs just this past Saturday. We got up early and went for a “coffee-cruise”, out to breakfast, to a wedding, and ended the day kayaking until dark on a little pond near our house. It was perfect.
My magic moment was GETTING MARRIED.. to the man of my dreams on August 2nd, 2014 with God-Send weather. Second-runner up was our entire honeymoon in St. Lucia.
My 2 foster dogs went to the most AHmazing homes…magical.
I was able to take a 3 week holiday off from work. Best. Vacation. Ever. :)
Magical moment – heading out for a 4 day back country canoe trip we canoed under an old railway bridge as a train was passing over. What a cool way to start the trip!
Wait, you’re the sweetest… my magical moment this summer was visiting beautiful Seattle over the fourth of July weekend – so lush and green! and YUMMY food.
xoxo
Magic moment this summer: seeing my boyfriend for the first time after he had been away for *too long* for military training :)
My magical moment from this summer was the day and moment my daughter was born!
My magic moment was a proposal from my SO of 6 years in the gardens alongside the National Cathedral.
Closing on our first house! :)
Fav moment of the summer was drinking a beer and eating ramen noodles with my boyfriend in our tent after hiking all day in Iceland. Our trip to Iceland was amazing, but moments like that really make you appreciate the small things :)
We also pre-ordered a copy of your book!
We visited my husband’s grandparents in IL, and my oldest learned how to ride his bike while we were there. Both our boys had such a great time playing games, running around outside, and getting showered with attention from their great-grandparents.
My magical moment of this summer was sitting in the hills of Cinque Terre, Italy drinking wine and eating crostini with homemade pesto (made by an 82 year old woman with her mortar and pestle). I’ve never tasted anything better.
