12 Days of Christmas! I Christmas House Tour Video & Giveaway. {CLOSED}

Welcome to the 12 Days of Christmas!
I am SO excited to share with you guys that every day for the next 12 days, I’ll be vlogging (think day in the life, waaaay oversharing, Q+A videos), sharing the video here on Crumbs (and on youtube!) and holding a giveaway of my favorite things!
Here’s a peek at some of the Christmas decor in our home. So sorry if I make you nauseaus with my shaky camera skills and poor editing – I’m still learning! There are a few things I left out because I have constant #mombrain and either forgot or wasn’t able to get it together in time. Things like my favorite mini Lenox nativity set (I have no idea where to place it this year, since Max will shatter it), the Pottery Barn Kids advent/Christmas countdown calendar (that is sewn completely crooked but I refused to send back because I opened it ON the first day of advent and was determined to have a cute calendar… ), our favorite Christmas pillows and outdoor lights, etc. I wanted to wait until everything was perfect, but if I waited, I knew I’d never do it and I’ve wanted to make videos FOREVER now.
The first year we were married, Eddie surprised me and bought a tree, decorated it and made his man cave apartment a winter wonderland for us. It was actually the second tree he bought, because the first was waaaay too big, but final sale. So we ended up with two trees! That year, we put up two trees and bought lots of ornaments at Michael’s and Joann’s. That’s where the majority of our ornaments are from, along with a few Martha Stewart from Macy’s that are about eight years old and some new ones from Michael’s this year that I bought for the white tree.
I bought the white tree last year at Treetopia on sale after Christmas. The copper/blue tree is from Target this year, and by far my favorite one. The red/green decorated tree is from Frontgate and will hopefully last us a million years.

My mom made our house incredibly magical when I was growing up. In fact, she still does and I’m hoping that I can get a video of hers before these 12 days are up! She’d stay up all night for days to turn the house into a Christmas wonderland for my brothers and me. It was the most magical time EVER.
Needless to say, I’ve been a complete Christmas freak since I was a kid. When school started up again, I’d wake up early and go downstairs just so I could sit by the Christmas tree in January before we got on the bus. It was my absolute favorite!
Eddie and I were determined to make our house as Christmasy as we could for Max this year. Eddie decorated gingerbread houses for eight hours because he is a perfectionist, and even set up his own tree downstairs in the basement that I didn’t get to capture. It has been so much fun and I love sitting under the lights every night.
Enjoy! And scroll down for giveaway #1!

GIVEAWAY!
Every day for the next 12 days until Christmas I’ll be giving away some of my favorite things. I want to show every bit of my appreciation for you guys sticking here with me for over seven years, reading the rambles that I write and making my recipes and leaving comments and supporting me 100%. Even when I write horrific run-on sentences and use 34 exclamation points in one post. And say “literally.” Ugh.
THANK YOU so much for being here. You changed my life and I am forever grateful for you.
Today I’m giving away a mirrorless camera! If you read my favorites post, you know I use one all the time and I even shot a few pieces of the video here with mine. I was super excited to giveaway the Samsung nx300 that I always talk about, but unfortunately it’s no longer available. Instead, I’m giving away the comparable Sony alpha a6000, which I’ve even considered switching to. This giveaway is not sponsored or affiliated with anyone and is given by me. It is open to EVERYONE EVERYWHERE! Wahoo.

Favorite memory is definitely putting all the millions of ornaments on the tree and regaling each other with their respective stories!

I’m hoping to win this for my traveling granddaughter. She’s saving up for one, not sure which, but I know its a Sony. How neat would it be if this was it?! Fingers crossed, right?
A favorite memory? Its hard to choose when each year we are blessed to be surrounded by our children and their children, two years ago my GREAT grand baby joined us. Each year has a memory and each year is cherished.
Thank you.
My favorite holiday memory is all the driving around going to see family on Christmas day. My wife and I both have moms that have their birthdays on Christmas and it is always a blast to see them on their special day, even if we have to drive a long way to see both on the same day!
My favorite Christmas memory is my daughter’s first Christmas. There is nothing like the look on a child’s face when they see a Christmas tree and Christmas lights for the first time.
I’m now following you on Instagram! My name on there is Gail.holman. Not much on there, I signed up see all my granddaughters photos as she travels (hoping to win the camera for her!). Thank you very much.

Growing up my grandmother went All Out for Christmas. She set up a huge tree, set out her antique silver serving dishes, and trays of cookies. She would always say we were so special so she was “Putting on the dog” for us.

My two favorite memories: baking sugar cookies with my family & passing them out to friends & family. & growing up in Miami, we’d always go to the beach on Christmas. I mean it does feel like summer currently. Looking forward to an 80° “winter” day on the beach this Christmas ?☉

I think my favorite holiday memory is Appetizer Christmas! The first Christmas after my MaMa passed away, my mom’s side of the family wanted to do something different than usual, I think because MaMa loved Christmas so much and it was too hard to keep going as they always had without her. So instead of a traditional Christmas breakfast or lunch, we all contributed an appetizer….and it just stuck! Now it’s something we look forward to every Christmas together. The granddaughters take it pretty seriously and start scheming weeks ahead of time! It’s become a fun new tradition for all of us, and I can honestly say we don’t miss the traditional dinner. Also, who doesn’t love snacking on appetizers all day?!
My favorite was always going to my grandparents house and watching my grandpa run his trains. It was a HUGE setup with antique trains and had its own separate table, complete with multiple little towns – I loved it!
What an awesome giveaway! Totally love your blog and have been reading and cooking from it for years!!
It is my baby girl’s first birthday!! So aside from all of the magical Christmas fun I loved as a kid, the best memory is from just one year ago, settling in back at home with our baby daughter and spending a lot of those sleepless nights snuggled up with her next to the twinkle of the Christmas tree! I think it can’t get much better than that! Except maybe each year when she gets more and more into the fun too!

Every Christmas, my cousins and I would sneakand steal grandma’s fudge from her candy dish. We thought we were pulling a fast one – as if she didn’t know where allllll that fudge went!!
We always went out on Christmas Eve to look at the lights. My parents pointed out a red light (Rudolph for sure) and said we needed to get home right away. My grandparents were at home and Santa had come while we were gone! We got to open our presents that night and it was so exciting. Looking back, I think my parents just wanted to sleep in for a change! I’m one of 5 kids and this was over 50 years ago.
LOVE the pics of Max with the train!

My favorite Christmas memory was the first time I was in charge of Christmas cookies in my house. Our cookie press would only work with trees, no other shape, so we made an entire forest, which frustrated me so much at the time, but is funny to laugh about now. Getting up on Christmas morning at my grandmas and being blown away that Santa knew we had traveled. Holiday magic!

As kids, we used to have to sing a Christmas song of our choice to receive our first Christmas present. At the time, I was mortified, but the video tapes are pretty entertaining!

My grandmother and I pass two “special gifts” back and forth to each other every christmas. Almost 20 years ago when I was seven or eight at a christmas bazaar at our church I told her “I found you a special gift” and gave her a terribly gaudy paperweight which she then gave me back the next year. I gave it back to her the following year and we have been passing it back and forth every since! She also managed to find an equally ugly adornment to give me the year I gave it back to her.
Favorite holiday memory was our first date…..We went for Italian at this cozy little wine bar then to the botanic gardens to the light show. It was 10 degrees and perfect and we do the same thing to celebrate every year <3

I always remember the feeling of anticipation on Christmas Eve waiting for the big day to arrive. It was always filled with lots of love and laughter and family. Now having my son we continue on with same traditions and get to enjoy it through a child’s eyes. Which clearly you’re doing as well with Max and it’s one of the greatest feelings EVER!!!!
I love thinking about my family Christmas growing up, the first time I went to see the nutcracker was amazing!
